On 15 December 2025, the CDTI hosted the IPCEI Health MED4CURE conference in Madrid, a key event for the Spanish biomedical ecosystem that brought together institutional leaders, companies participating in the IPCEI, and representatives from the regulatory, scientific, and patient communities.
Institutional opening
The event was opened by Juan Cruz Cigudosa, Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Universities, who highlighted the role of IPCEIs as strategic instruments for promoting transformative projects on a European scale. During his speech, He expressly highlighted the Syoligo project, developed by Sylentis, as an example of a project to be proud of, emphasising its innovation based on RNA technology and its a8>innovation based on RNA technology and its impact on the generation of direct and indirect employment, as well as on the strengthening of the national biomedical industrial fabric.
Round table: Companies IPCEI MED4CURE
The first round table discussion was moderated by José Moisés Martín Carretero, Director General of the CDTI, and focused on the presentation of the business projects a27> business that form part of the IPCEI MED4CURE.

The presentations highlighted the diversity of technologies, scientific approaches and stages of development, as well as the shared ambition to translate biomedical innovation from research to the patient.
Round table: Driving innovation to address unmet medical needs
The second round table, which was more regulatory and strategic in nature, was moderated by Raquel Yotti, commissioner of the PERTE for Cutting-Edge Health, and focused on the role of pharmaceutical innovation as a driver of improvement in people’s health.

A strategic project for the future of healthcare
The IPCEI Health MED4CURE conference reaffirmed that projects such as Syoligo, promoted by Sylentis, represent a strategic commitment by the country, capable of integrating scientific innovation, industrial development, the creation of skilled jobs and real improvements in people’s health.
